Guidelines for International Student Applicants

at

Ube Frontier University in 2009



(Application Qualifications)
A person wishing to submit an application to join Ube Frontier University must satisfy the following criteria:
1) The person has completed a twelve-year school education in his/her home country.
2) The person has attained Japanese language proficiency equal to or higher than the Japanese 2nd Class Language Proficiency Test.
3) The person is aged 18 or older.

(Department Open to Applicants)
Department of Welfare and Psychology
(Asian Environment and Business Course or Social-Business and Psychology Course)

(Application Periods)
The first period: May 1, 2008 ~ May 31, 2008
The second period: August 1, 2008 ~ August 31, 2008

(Examination Times)
The first period: June
The second period: September

(Examination Venues)
Cities designated by Ube Frontier University.
(Actual city to be decided upon, bearing in mind the location of an applicant’s hometown.)

(Screening Methods)
1) Japanese language proficiency test (including listening).
2) Submitted documents screening.
3) Interview.

(Successful Applicants of the First Period)
Successful applicants of the first period will be accepted in October and take classes till March as part-time students before entering the undergraduate school at Ube Frontier University.

(Successful Applicants of the Second Period)
Successful applicants of the second period will enter the undergraduate school at Ube Frontier University in April, 2008.

¥25,000.

* 100 % of Entrance Fee and 50 % of Tuition, Facilities・Equipment Expenses being exempted as scholarships for international students.

(Lecture Attendance Fees for Part-Time Students)
The fee for attending a lecture is ¥12,000 per credit. Part-time students are required to achieve 14 credits by attending 20 hours per week over six months. The total cost amounting to ¥168,000.

(Additional Information)
Accommodation: Since Ube Frontier University doesn’t have any dormitory facilities for international students, off-campus apartments will be introduced to interested students. The rent varies from ¥20,000 to ¥30,000.
Part-time job: International students who want to participate in a part time job must be approved upon application at the Local Japanese Immigration Office before they start working.
